LASIK Eye Surgery
LASIK is one of the safest (and most popular) laser vision correction procedures available.
LASIK eye surgery can provide patients with clearer vision and reduce or even eliminate dependency on glasses and contact lenses.
At Adelson LASIK, Drs. Todd and Howard Adelson offer advanced vision correction options at affordable prices, so you don’t have to wait to experience the benefits of clearer vision.
How does LASIK work?
LASIK is a refractive surgery, meaning that it’s performed to adjust the way light is processed by the eye, which can result in clearer vision. Many common vision errors occur because light does not filter properly through the cornea (the transparent layer at the front of the eye) to the retina, located in the back of the eye. These refractive errors can create visual distortions and can also lead to difficulty seeing at certain distances.
LASIK corrects refractive error by changing the shape of the cornea.
What can LASIK treat?
LASIK eye surgery can be used to correct common vision problems including:
Myopia
(nearsightedness)
Hyperopia
(farsightedness)
Astigmatism
(near and distance vision affected)
Benefits of LASIK
LASIK is a life-changing procedure that can transform how you experience your day-to-day life. Some of the benefits of LASIK include:
- Quick procedure: LASIK surgery is often quick, only taking about 10 minutes to complete.
- Short recovery period: the recovery is usually quick and simple, with most patients back to their normal routine within 24-hours.
- Simplifies your daily routine: LASIK can reduce or eliminate the need for glasses and contact lenses, meaning you’ll have one less thing to think about during your day.
- Long-term savings: by reducing or eliminating the costs associated with glasses and contact lenses, LASIK can save you money in the long-run.
LASIK technology at Adelson LASIK
The team at Adelson LASIK is committed to providing the best in laser vision correction by combining expert skill and experience with advanced technology. Drs. Todd and Howard Adelson and their team offer a full range of vision correction procedures, including All-Laser LASIK and Contoura, designed to treat a wide range of patients.
Types of LASIK
Custom Wavefront LASIK
This is one of the latest advancements in laser vision correction. Wavefront optimized technology uses two measured points on the corneal surface to limit glare and halos.
Contoura LASIK
As the latest FDA-approved technology in LASIK, Contoura LASIK offers patients more advanced visual outcomes by using a high definition camera to map 22,000 points on the corneal surface. This map is then used to guide the laser treatment. While most patients have 20/20 vision after Contoura and Custom Wavefront LASIK, a higher number of patients achieve 20/15 vision or better after Contoura due to its precision.
